Stem Cells Research Shows A Way For Faster Healing of Body
British scientists have developed a stem cell treatment that could dramatically boost the body’s ability to repair itself.
The treatment, which makes the bone marrow release a flood of stem cells into the bloodstream, could heal serious tissue damage caused by heart attacks and even repair broken bones.
Scientists already use stem cell therapy to treat leukaemia patients, getting the marrow to release a type of stem cell that can only make fresh blood cells.
Recently, British researchers say in a study published in the American Journal Cell that they have found a way to get the bone marrow to release two other types of stem cell that can repair bone, blood vessels and cartilage.
The bone marrow of treated mice released 100 times as many stem cells, which help to regenerate tissue.
Researchers hope that by releasing extra stem cells, we could potentially call up extra numbers of whichever stem cells the body needs, in order to boost its ability to mend itself and accelerate the repair process.
t now seems increasingly likely that the bone marrow also contains cells that have the capacity to repair damaged internal organs, such as the heart and blood vessels.
3 Cup Of Coffee A Day Can Lead To Hallucinations
Coffee consumptioncan lead to halllucintions. It soundsd strange but a new study has found that drinking three cups of the hot drink a day can triple the risk of suffering from hallucinations.
Studies have already documented that too much caffeine can lead to heart palpitations, insomnia and even affect a woman’s chances of becoming pregnant.
Now, a team at Durham University has found a link between coffee and hallucinations.
Caffeine boosts levels of a stress hormone which is known as cortisol.
And, those who have three cups of brewed coffee a day could be at the same risk, the researchers have warned due to the drink’s higher caffeine content.
The study has shown a clear link between hallucinations and a high caffeine intake.
The researchers have based their findings on an analysis of the caffeine intake of 200 students some of whom had experienced seeing things that were not there, hearing voices or sensing the presence of the dead.
Headphones Could Be Dangerous In Heart Patients
A small, new study has revealed that placing the ubiquitous ear buds or other headphones too close to the chest could interfere with the proper functioning of the devices used to keep hearts beating at their proper rhythm.
Patients should not place the headphones, which contain magnets, in shirt pockets or drape them over their chest, lest they risk havoc with their heart-rhythm devices, researchers said. Read more

Chinese Herb Extract Helps Immunity Cells Fight HIV And Slow Aging Process
Chemical from the Astragalus root, frequently used in Chinese herbal therapy, may help in the fight against HIV and raises the possibility of slowing the ageing process in other parts of our bodies.
Immune cells lose the ability to divide as they age. This hapens because a part of their chromosomes known as a telomere becomes progressively shorter with cell division. As a result, the cell changes in many ways, and its disease fighting ability is compromised. Read more
